AB Trace Together is a mobile app that can help Albertans prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the province. The app is completely voluntary. It provides peace of mind and can protect you and your loved ones through community during contact tracing. The app helps Alberta Health Services to determine if you may have been exposed to Covid-19.

Here is how it works:
1. Download AB Trace Together app
2. Turn on your Bluetooth
3. Make sure the app is running every time you leave home

When you out of your community, your phone detects when it’s near another phone running AB Trace Together, the phones connect to make a digital hand shake. Your phone receives anonymous ID that is encrypted and stored in only one spot, your phone. If an app user gets Covid-19, they will be contacted by Alberta Health Services and asked voluntarily provide access to their AB Trace Together data. This helps Alberta Health Services know that you and other may have been exposed to Covid-19. Knowing your contact history can help protect you and your loved ones. Being contacted earlier will allow you to take actions sooner and prevent the spread.

The only information the app collects is your phone number; it doesn’t collect data through GPS or track your location or phone use. Your privacy is protected and secured.
